About Paper Bindings

For three and a half years, under the name Once Upon A Dream Books, we solely reviewed books and participated in the "right" memes. But after much debate and soul searching, we felt that direction was wrong for us.

Paper Bindings was born.

Paper Bindings celebrated its launch day May 2nd, 2016. The name is a nod to the crucial materials used to hold a book together as books play an important role in our lives. The world of books and publishing affects us daily so much more than any of us realize at first thought.

Paper Bindings will be your go to stop to help you fulfill all your bookish needs.

Paper Bindings - Carrie

I'm Carrie, and I'm the founder and heart of Paper Bindings. I started blogging in 2012, and have come a long way from that girl who could code but had no idea how use Twitter.

Five facts:
  • I'm a Slytherin.
  • I'm secretly a dragon.
  • I don't like to cook/bake, but when I do, I go all out.
  • I find myself constantly searching for bookstagram props wherever I go.
  • I lost my heart to steampunk and I never got it back.

My real name is Stephanie, but on social media I go by Obikitty (who doesn't love a pseudonym? It's about as close to being a superhero as most of us are going to get.)

I am a book-lover, cat-owner, comic book geek, Mets fan, INFP, and Hufflepuff. I'm also a fan of steampunk, sci-fi, paranormal, and other escapist genres. I've loved reading since I was a kid who accidentally tricked people into thinking she'd learned to read at an impressively early age by memorizing my favorite stories and reading aloud to myself while turning the pages to keep up with the illustrations. That sums me up pretty well.

My two favorite pastimes are probably reading and talking. My reading time is split equally between books, comics, and fanfiction (though I go through phases where I favor one or another of the types). My non-reading, non-working time is spent mostly watching tv, baking, or playing with my pets. Or, you know, talking. Once you get to know me, it's hard to shut me up.

I am Tisha. I have loved to read (and write) since I was about 10 years old. I enjoy mostly YA and historical fiction. Some of my favorites include: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, March, A Northern Light, and The Giver.

Five Facts:

  • I am a Neville type Gryffindor.
  • I love squirrels.
  • Colonial Williamsburg is my happy place.
  • I can get into very passionate conversations about television shows.
  • My favorite places to read are at the beach and on the train.

I am Tracy.

Librarian. Historian. Writer. Ravenclaw. INFJ. Film fan. Anglophile. These are the words I’d be most likely to use to describe me. At least that’s what’s on my Twitter profile, so it must be true. My favorite book genres are historical fiction and young adult.

If I’m not reading, then you’re most likely going to find me catching a movie or TV show. My favorite movies are numerous but to narrow down the list to two, I’ll say Titanic and Atonement.

TV-wise, Jack & Bobby (if you know what it is, and better yet, you’ve watched it, I’ll love you forever) is my all-time favorite show. I’m obsessed with Reign. My absolute favorite thing to do is going to plays. Ragtime’s my favorite but I also love Rent, If/Then and Les Miserables.
