Paper Bindings | How Television Affects My Reading Habits - Discussion Part Two

Our Tips on How to Put Down the Remote and Read

Do not let someone dictate what you should read

Book clubs are great (I love the one the ladies here at Paper Bindings are in) however, sometimes a book comes up that sounds great in the beginning, but you cannot seem to finish it. That's okay, sometimes the book does not live up to the blurb. I am sure your friends will forgive you.

Paper Bindings - The Mirror King Blog Tour - Top 10 Vigilantes In Honor of Black Knife

When it came to my creative post for The Mirror King, I knew I wanted to do something fun.

But the question was 'What?'

So I looked back on my notes from the book. As it turns out, I spent a lot of time while reading The Mirror King thinking about vigilantes. There was even a moment where I imagined all the baby vigilantes my ship would have. (You can find all the spoiler free details and my daydream inspiring quotation on my review.)

Vigilantes tend to be snarky, have complex backstories, and are quite often considered antiheroes as well. (My favorite kind. Truly, who wants someone who plays by the rules?)

Eighteen-year-old Jill Charron wakes up in a hospital room, leg in a cast, stitches in her face and a big blank canvas where the last 6 weeks should be. She comes to discover she was involved in a fatal accident while on a school trip in Italy three days previous but was jetted home by her affluent father in order to receive quality care. Care that includes a lawyer. And a press team. Because maybe the accident...wasn't an accident. Wondering not just what happened but what she did, Jill tries to piece together the events of the past six weeks before she loses her thin hold on her once-perfect life. ”

Life, Book, and Blogging News

Life wise

I needed a little break from blogging, so putting myself first, I took one. And I think that was the best thing I could do for myself.

I painted a picture. It might seem like nothing, but I've been wanting to paint something for years now. I finally took some time for myself and accomplished this small thing. I'm feeling more recharged now.
