Paper Bindings | TTT: Recent Additions To My Shelves

A weekly book meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's theme is the Last Ten Books That Came Into My Possession:

Choosing books is always satisfying, even if they aren't meant for you. The book covers shown above are the last ten books that have come into my possession. Some I bought to use with students of mine (The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, Nancy Drew Clew Crew #1, and The Doll People). Some I bought in advance for my brother's birthday next month (anything by David Icke is for him, I'm not a conspiracy theory nut like my brother, lol). And the rest I got for myself!

What is your Top Ten this week?

  1. I love the comment at the end of your post about being buried alive! :) The True Story of the Three Little Pigs is a great book, my students love it. Have you read The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas? It's one of my favourites. My TTT

    1. I've never heard of that book, but I'll need to check it out now! I've always liked The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (and it was one of my big brother's favorite books). Have you read The Stinky Cheese Man? It's by the same author and just as oddly charming.

Thanks for reading and commenting :)

    1. The Raven Boys is pretty awesome. I'm part way through the second book already, so I definitely recommend it. If you are interested, we will be doing a group review of the first book in the cycle later this month :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I've only read one of these -- THE DOLL PEOPLE. My daughter used to love those books, so I read a couple of them out loud to her. I've also heard great things about THE RAVEN BOYS, just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

    Happy TTT!

    1. I've never read The Doll People, but the description seemed right up my alley and perfect for a 3rd grade girl. I'm happy to hear a recommendation for it!

Raven Boys is great, and will be the subject of our first group review on the blog- which will be coming out soon, so keep an eye out for that :)

Thanks for reading and Happy TTT right back 'atcha!

  4. I've heard so many great things about The Raven Boys but I still haven't purchased a copy for myself! I love Maggie Stiefvater's writing though; I loved her Wolves of Mercy Fall series.

    1. The Raven Boys is my first Stiefvater book, though if they are all this good it won't be my last :D

Thanks for dropping by and for commenting!

    *whispers* that is all.

    1. It's almost next on my list...I figure I'll want to work my way through The Raven Cycle first, or do you want me to put that off, lol ;)

    2. OMG! WHY DO YOU ASK ME IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS?!

Read The Raven Cycle first so I can share all my Gansey theories. I think the last book of that will come out before the next Lois book anyways. So you have some time. :)

    3. Mwahaha! I backed you into a corner ;)

I'll stick to my original plan, which was Raven Cycle, Lois, Flash. We will be able to discuss all the Raven Boys theories soon enough (I'm over a quarter done with book 2 now)!
