Mattie - A Northern Light
Mattie's loves reading and writing even though her father would rather her help him on the farm with her younger siblings. Everyday, and every chapter, starts with Mattie looking up a new word in her dictionary. Throughout, the book she wrestles with the hope of wanting to go away to college.

Cath - Fangirl
Cath is an epic fanficiton writer who prefers to - as she claims - write about life then live it.

“You’ve read the books?”
“I’ve seen the movies.”
Cath rolled her eyes so hard, it hurt. (Actually.) (Maybe because she was still on the edge of tears. On the edge, period.) “So you haven’t read the books.”
“I’m not really a book person.”
“That might be the most idiotic thing you’ve ever said to me.”

Jo - Little Women, Little Men, Jo's Boys
Jo is a writer who uses her words to comfort herself in times of struggle. She writes plays for her sisters and eventually goes to New York and starts a literary career of sorts.

“Take some books and read; that’s an immense help; and books are always good company if you have the right sort.”

Liesel - The Book Thief
In the beginning of the novel, Liesel does not know how to read, yet steals a book at her brother's funeral and becomes "The Book Thief". Throughout the book, the power of writing and sharing words becomes an act of defiance and growth.

"The best word shakers were the ones who understand the true power of words. They were the ones who could climb the highest. One such word shaker was a small, skinny girl. She was renowned as the best word shaker of her region because she knew how powerless a person could be without words."

Charlie - Perks of Being a Wallflower
Charlie describes his freshman year of high school in a series of letters. He's a loner who loves reading and writing, which his teacher notices and offers him extra books to read. It is his love of words that helps him reenter the world.

Miles - Looking for Alaska
Miles loves reading biographies and his favorite part is learning people's last words. This helps brings Alaska and Miles together in the beginning of their friendship.

Hermione - Harry Potter series
Hermione is the queen of all book nerds.

"That's what Hermione does. When in doubt, go to the library."

Hazel - The Fault in Our StarsHazel starts out in The Fault in Our Stars with two friends: the fictional An Imperial Affliction and Kaitlyn. Throughout the story Hazel's love of An Imperial Affliction shapes what happens to her. The book brings Hazel and Augustus together and even to another country.

Colin - An Abundance of Katherines
Throughout the book. Colin struggles with the fact that he is a child-prodigy, not a genius. In his mind, geniuses grow up to change the world - to matter - prodigies do not. Nevertheless, Colin is often found reading a book or telling others about the facts that he knows.

Scout - To Kill a Mockingbird
In addition to being a tomboy, Scout loves to read. She defies her teacher who wants her to only read and write the way her teacher wants her too.

"Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing".

Tisha

As an INFJ Tisha doesn’t like she obsesses. Luckily, she has television, film, and books to keep her busy. Although YA is her favorite, she loves all types of books especially historical fiction. This resident Gryffindor also enjoys traveling and seeing where her wanderlusting nature will take her. Twitter
